A Message to the NRIs (in Hindi)

Ek choti si khwaish hai mere mann mai
aaj agar mauka mile toh laut aau mere watan mai

aaj se kuch saal pehle
tarakki ki raah mai,
jindagi ki daud mai,
aage badhne ki chaah mai,
mai jaana chahta tha watan se door
doosre watan ki chaav mai.

Ek choti si khwaish hai mere mann mai
aaj agar mauka mile toh laut aau mere watan mai

mai anjaan tha
wataan ke pyaar se
dharti maa ke dulaar se
mere astitva ki pehchaan se
isliye aa gaya sab chod

meri pehchaan ujagar karti hai
sab kuch hai yahan
par apna kehne ke liye koi nahi
apna watan aakhir apna hi hota hai

Ek choti si khwaish hai mere mann mai
aaj agar mauka mile tu laut aau mere watan mai

har mushkil ghadi mai
bachpan se ladi tak,
khada tha saath mai
aaj jab use meri jaroorat hai
mai usse door doosre watan ki unnati mai yogdaan kar raha hoon.

Ek choti si khwaish hai mere mann mai
aaj agar mauka mile tu laut aau mere watan mai

apne watan ki safalta mai kush hota
garv se usse apna batata
waapas aane ki aasha rakhta
jab mai boodha ho jaata

Ek choti si khwaish hai mere mann mai
aaj agar mauka mile tu laut aau mere watan mai

insaan kitna matlabi ho gaya
jawaani ke josh mai
tarakki ke aahosh mai
yeh to bhool hi gaya
watan ko ek boodhe nahi
jawaan ki jaroorat hai.

Ek choti si khwaish hai mere mann mai
aaj agar mauka mile tu laut aau mere watan mai

Mai boodha ho kar
watan par bojh nahi
jawaani mai watan ke
kaam aana chahta hoon
jeena aur marna apne hi watan mai chahta hoon...JAI HIND!

OLDIES–In a world of strangers…

Today, they are in a world of strangers,
struggling to adjust at an age
when they require a ranger...

Since the time we were born,
they realigned their ambitions in line with ours,
and counted on us to fulfill their dreams…

They spent their entire lives,
satisfying our prides…
And now when they have grown old,
unable to stroll,
how can we leave them to live in pain?

How can we forget that a day might turn up,
when we might be in the same pane
and our children might follow the same chain
and leave us to live all by ourselves,
in a hope that someday,
our progeny will take us with them…

Respect elders; serve them as that is the foremost duty of mankind!!!

Are you ready for it?

I say to myself: Am I ready for it? Death does not blow a trumpet. It always comes uncalled for.
If I had to die today, will I have any regrets? The answer to this question should be: NO

I request all of you to ask this question to yourself. If you get the answers as YES, then it is time to act.
I know each one of us have different aspirations and goals and I very much respect that. Most of us have a common goal in life – Reach the apex and earn lots of money so that we can address all the requirements and luxuries of our near and dear ones. But the question is – Is that all?

Everyone supports their own family, that being part of our duty. But we forget that we are all the children of GOD and so it is our duty to also support the lesser privileged children of GOD.

We have learnt to walk and now it is time to show the direction to the lesser privileged section of our society. We can hear most people saying - ‘I am too busy and I don’t get the time to work for social cause. I will work for it when I grow old and when I am retired’. This means that we have the last priority for social cause not realizing that society also needs us when we are young so that we can channelize our energy, provide constructive ideas and actively participate in the betterment of several lives. When we grow old, we might not have the same energy level and physical strength to work for the social causes.

It is when we grow old that we realize that we spent our whole life for ourselves but it is too late then.
Some of us may think - ‘This is the time I can enjoy. If not now than when will I enjoy my life’? Fun has different meanings for different people. Some people think spending money is fun; some may think playing is fun, etc. Time can be allocated for your type of fun. For me fun is when I see a kid smiling, when I see old people telling their stories with the enthusiasm, when I see the happiness of an underprivileged on an achievement. Here I would like to differentiate between fun and happiness – If we are having fun doesn’t always mean that we are happy similarly being happy doesn’t mean that we are having fun. Happiness is one thing that everyone tries to find till the end but the irony is that happiness cannot be found outside and has to be found within ourselves. What is that one thing that makes you happy?

For me happiness is when I can help someone grow each day without any expectation. It completes my day and provides me intense satisfaction which can just be felt. To see a smile on their faces, I can sacrifice all. I don’t want wealth but I just want their health and smiles. It just gives me a heavenly feeling to do something for the helpless. To just love them without any expectation, gives me an out of the world feeling. Happiness cannot be purchased and is the result of our own deeds.

There is no tomorrow, so if we feel like doing something, we need to do it right now. Either we do it now or we might never do it.

So let’s ask this question to ourselves today - If I had to die today, will I have any regrets?
